What a humbling experience. I actually bought the music because I could not figure out what was happening in one part , then I watched the video. I was actually cheering when I heard his strings ring, because that must mean he is human. Then I realized how great his performance was WHILE playing this...and I was even more humbled. Some performance notes: The bridge is almost totally mine, I left in the pick taps and scrapes and some of his runs to pay homage, but there is no way possible, whether I played it note for note or not I would ever come even close to sounding like him. Joe has this vibe, this natural swing to his music that I do not know if anyone can or should duplicate. I have not mixed this yet..I will by next weekend, please PLEASE offer incite into mixing (or performance) problems with it. Verse 2 and last verse I put some harmonies in intentionally, because I wanted to feel what it felt like to play over Joe as he was playing...I like it. Bridge: I changed the rhythm chords. I put in a "chaos" chord (quarter tone) in the middle of the progression. You probably wont be able to hear it, I can barely and I put it there. I did that because thats the kind of music I like to play and wanted to add my little touches to it. The last few parts are still a little sloppy I got tired, but really wanted to finish it... The ending is the live ending. They start on the G/F sharp instead of the E as they do in the CD version. Theres more but my wife wants the comp
