Just an idea for a track

First draft of this thing . Its a bit ropey in places but the basics are there . Rock on ! Trev

This track was put together relatively quickly and is pretty close to completion. It went from RiffWorks( Drums, Guitars & Bass) into Adobe Audition2 (Vocals and tweaking) into Tracktion2 for polishing with "Mackie Final Mix". I learned a good deal putting this one together, mainly how different everything can sound in the various hosts. Anyway Im happy enough with whats here , levels and a bit of EQ yet to do, but I think it will balance out nicely. Much thanks to Conor from Dublin band "Bravest Kid In School" for collaborating on the the vocals with me. Feedback as always is welcome. Thanks for listening. Trev

Posted the basic structure of this up before , it now has some nice slide and lead and bass added by my buds Mark and Doc J. Vocals will be added soon hope ya can dig the vibe of it , I think its catchy enough. As always Id appreciate comments advice criticism and pointers to improvement Thanks Trev

Hi All This is a collbaoration Im working on with my buddy Doctor J at the moment this is just up to the end of the first verse. My first serious attemp at vocals and lyric writing so it might be a bit obvious sounding or whatever ? Intro bit is about the business man driven by money , next bit is about "freedom" and how everyone is told they're free but yet everyone is struggling to attain stuff in the capitalist / consumer culture. Verse is obviously the grim reality of what it all actaully costs - then the hypocrisy bit "like money doesnt talk" freedom and justice is bought and sold and the like, and finally the futulity as all the heroes fall. Lyrics will go Back to the man, then to freedom, then the reality and the futility and so on. Theres a huge gap vocally in between teh intro voicings and the main verse so anyone has any ideas Id like to hear em. Thanks Trev _****_

Demo of the next track I hope to complete soon. Inspired by Tom Petty and his attitude when he was a young 'un tellin his folks "there aint gonna be no fallin' back" when they asked him what he was going to fall back on if the music thing didnt work our for him?. Anyway here it is, its the first rough cut and will be polished up when I get the guitar harmonies , vocals and bass parts done. All the best Trev

This song started life about a year ago, I recorded the first rough version in October and since then spent a few hours here and there tweaking it a little. Vocals were added by two different collobarators Richard Mullins and Eoin Madsen. Doctor J provided 2 Bass lines a fretlesss and frettedthey are very distinguishable. Eoin recorded the vocals so Ive no idea what he used. Doctor J did the bass himself too and mailed me the wav. I definitlety found it more difficult to mix other peoples WAVs than working with my own so I guess I learned a bit doing it. This is pretty close to a final mix, Ive a little job to do here and there on guitar parts to make em a little less muddy and need to EQ and balance vocally aswell. Probably the most difficult mix Ive had to put together considering the guitar parts are so old and I hadnt a clue about setting up tones at the time but I think it came out ok. Riffworks drummers used here but tweaked externally on final mix , a little rex used and very small synth from reason 3.0 in there too. Hope ya like it, theres a pretty unique vibe between the vocals and guitars but after a few listens I finally got what the guys were going for. All the best, Trev

Empty Pockets. Started life a month or so ago , since then a good bit of work gone in to bring it where it is. Vocally I think this track is pretty strong. No denying the influence and I think its carried very well, much thanks to my buddy Mark who did the vocals...almost finished! ;-) Recommed ya listen to this with headphones nice and loud to get the full effect of all the panning. Havent Slept right for two days and Im in a bit of a daze ...this tune kidna reflects that feeling of everything seeming just a little detatched.

A work in progress done entirely in Riffworks so far, no bass yet but when I get a chance I'll fire something down. Vocals on the way too at some point I hope. Might work on the arrangement a bit more and have some ideas yet to go in. Suggestions as always appreciated. All the best Trev

Hi All , Vocals included here with use of a Toneport, drums and guitars done in Riffworks. This started life here [http://www.sonomawireworks.com/riffcaster/post.php?/683][1] and evolved into this with a collaboratiove effort from Mark (The Crooks) who did vocals and Doctor J who provided bass groove, Its a small tune and the first attempt with vocals on the tone port so dont be too harsh on me hhahaa.....it was done very quickly and as a result I didnt notice I had the gain too high on the toneport input. Hi All, This song is essentially about growing up, all the things we have to deal with and the frustration that you feel when you cant put into words what you're feeling. For me its about watching someone ya care about in pain and feeling helpless, its about losing a parent, about feeling insecure growin up, being scared of the future and regretting things in the past. The end of the track is I suppose a bit of a conclusion to all those feelings Ive had so far over 28 years and how trying to make sense of them and evaluating them never really ends because we are always learning and adding to those experiences until the day we ourselves check out. Its kinda dark I suppose but the glimmer of hope in there is the fact that every now and then you get some of those things out of your system, you realise you're not on your own and ya move on ;-) All of this is done in Riffworks and I used a couple of REX files in parts. Hi folks, This song was inspired by the desire to wear a matching pair of socks today and not finding the one sock I wanted to. It takes a couple of listens to get into the vibe of it , give a go a couple of times its pretty short and its an easy enough listen. You gotta imagine shuffling through a basket of laundry trying to find the match for the sock you have decided to wear......but it doesnt seem to be anywhere around,your standing there with the one sock on and ya think maybe the other one is still in with the dirty laundry or something? So ya have a look just outta curiousity and damn it , it isnt there ? Maybe its in the washing machin or dryer? No its not there either ....then ya think , I'll settle for another pair and the same thing happens...so as I decided I wasnt gonna find a matching pair I concluded all these odd sock are off having an adventure somewhere wandering around in their own little world and dont want to be found.....these are sock fugitives on the run ironically without a foot being inside them hahaha True Story ...... Anyway of anyone cares to put a bass line or vocal to it, I'll host the file up somewhere for ya to pull it down and work with it... All the best TRev

This track is one that Ive been struggling to complete for a while not sure what to do with it really , maybe someone can offer suggestions. Im thinking I might add vocals at some point and a bass too , maybe get some other players to add something. All the best Trev M
