Lounge Lizard (Jazz 2871)
More

This was an old beta jazz test that we did. Bit repetitive on the old chord front, and just a standard jazz progression, but too much good work from the guys not to post it. Me rhythm and some lead; Mickeys stand-up bass (awesome); Triky, solos; Rick, solos; Bill, Keys.

Beauzeau Blues
More

This was a slow blues collab started by Beauzeau, then jumped on by the junkies. Beau didn't cast it so I've jacked it (too much good stuff on here to let it go to waste); hope he doesn't mind. I think it also features Amit on his first rifflink collab (the last spooky sounding solo), so I couldn't let that get lost either. There were some other people who played on it but who didn't move their riff up into the songline so I've not included them. Enjoy!

City Heat (Give Me Something a Little Hotter)
More

My RR11 entry. The song tries to capture the feeling of being just on the edge of slipping over into heatwave madness in the city, but never quite gets there. The woman obviously doesn't think the guitar playing is hot enough....! Rex files are Loopmaster.

Slingy's Song
More

This was actually started by GuitarSlinger, and he asked if anyone was going to cast it so I have. It's a bit difficult doing a mix when you can't alter the drum levels. The guys are rocking on this. Slinger's track once again is awesome to play over. I mastered this in Audacity according to the advice given by gatorjj, although I adjusted everything down just a bit. There still seems a bit of clipping however, don't know why.

Can't Help Falling in Love (variation)
More

This is just a quick test of recording my acoustic. First time I've tried it, so any comments welcome. This was done with only a cheap piezo near the bridge. Don't worry about the playing I just threw it together really quickly.

Those That Fail to Return (Not Hot Remix)
More

Just doing some testing of different mastering option re the advice from gatorjj. I'll decided to keep this mix up, although it's a different one from my RR9 entry. Just for info. You can get gatorjj's advice in the RiffRumble forum listed as RR question originally posted by me. It's interesting comparing this mix to my RR9 version of this song and gatorjj's advice is spot on (well at least to my ears). This was mixed well out of the red in RW then the compression and limiting added via Audacity according to gatorjj's advice. I've tried mixing to riff in RW then adding compression to the mixed riff, but that doesn't seem to work as well.

For Those That Fail To Return (RRIX Entry)
More

My RRIX entry. Thanks to everyone who left comments on the previous version. There have been a lot of TV programs on Iraq when I was writing the piece and the song is a reflection of that; hence the title. The drums are mainly Marty's Rex files. Recorded in Riffworks, with Guitarport and my Strat. Bass is down to Line6 Gearbox effects with the same Strat. Thanks for listening.

What to do When Your Musical Mojo goes on Vacation
More

Just some junkie madness. Rick (Yahsteck) began the rifflink in response to a thread in the forums. This collab is still open for anyone that wants to add to it. I should add that the ultimate credit goes to Riffer who started the thread and expressed what all of us feel at some point in time....the Mojo is MIA.... Don't know how you guys do it. Started out just as something to test mixing drums to a layer now listen to it. Awesome guys. Rifflink takes you to places you never thought you would go....Also, the drums on this are one of Marty's Rex files, with some ID toms thrown in....Cool....
