Musical Influences

|  WHAT INSPIRES ME: ---------------------- I write conceptual songs -- intense and themed within a handful of seconds. Why? As emotion is at that moment the most intense: The concept is at its most pure moment. ------------------------ An example: Imagine a violent movie scene  | say a break up... we hear voice-over explaining what happened and why. The movie continues into the next scene normally involving walking the voice-over continues then stops. I take this intense moment and repeat it to a climax for what it is. Pure emotion. Music is in the journey not an end in itself. ------------------------ Sometimes musicians loose track of the inspiration for a their reason for being one. Unless you can convey an emotion outside the vocals the fiddly spot on millisecond playing.... your point is LOST. Your work will be hollow and lifeless. When is the last time you felt the concept take you and not just recite a scale? ---------------------- My songs might not be the 'best musically'. Sure. That's why it's a concept. From some of the collabs I've been on I hear unimaginative  | un-inventive and un-emotional playing. I create art without emotion I'm a robot.... come on! -------------------------- From the concept we get an insight. From the insight -- we appreciate the imperfections of being human -- we get to the soul of why songs move us to tears per chance -- why we suddenly think existentially. -------------------------- Mahler - Mozart etc... they felt the moment - they created imaginable moments and feelings. I'm no-where near either -- but still I feel that the music I fuse and create says something! ------------------------ If you're annoyed -- that says something about you. Let go - fuze -- feel it. Maybe you get some inspiration to write a song... Follow it - and then you might see that music touches -- creates --manifests and dominates.
