RiffRumble IX Song Contest for RiffWorks users. Over $2500 in prizes!
66 rockin' songs were entered in RiffRumble IX. Winners for all 3 categories will be announced by April 7th on this web page and in the RiffWorks newsletter. Listen to all the entries here ranked by how many public votes they received.
RiffRumble IX is hosted by Sonoma Wire Works, developers of RiffWorks guitar recording software and RiffWorld.com online music collaboration and song posting community. Sponsors for this round are Line 6, Submersible Music, and Recording Magazine.
Any RiffWorks Standard or Line 6 Edition user worldwide could participate. There was no contest entry fee. 3 winners will split $2500 in prizes like a Line 6 Variax® Acoustic 700 Modeling Guitar, a TonePort™ UX2 USB audio interface, 3 Recording Magazine subscriptions, Submersible Music InstantDrummer Sessions, and more!

Submission Rules
- Record an original song in RiffWorks Standard or Line 6 Edition. Guide for How to easily create a song with RiffWorks.
- Submit one song to RiffRumble using the RiffCast button in the RiffWorks interface starting March 12 through 25 (23:59 PST). In the pull-down menu in the interface, choose RiffRumble IX. Here's an example image.
- Syncing to ReWire devices is allowed.
- Songs that have been posted previously to RiffCaster or RiffWorld are eligible.
- Songs submitted to previous RiffRumbles are not eligible.
- Contestants are responsible for checking the entry page and making sure their entry appears. Contact support here if you do not see it after about 3 minutes.
- Only one song per user is eligible. Contestants may delete and resubmit entries until the deadline.
- Contestants are required to vote for their favorite song that is not their own in the Contestants Choice category within the alloted voting period in order to be eligible to win any category of the contest.
- RiffLink online collaborations are not allowed.
- In order to protect your music, songs submitted to RiffRumble are placed under the Creative Commons Music Sharing License.
- Be prepared to present .rws file to prove it was recorded in RiffWorks.
- Contestants worldwide are eligible - you do not have to live in the US.
Voting Rules - Popularity Category
- Votes will be accepted as 'Shouts' on each song March 26th (00:01 PST) - April 1st (23:59PST). Any shouts left on songs prior to March 26th and following April 1st will be removed and will not be counted.
- Invite people to add a comment to your song on your song's page starting March 26th. Please wait for confirmation from Sonoma Wire Works that voting is working before emailing your friends and family.
- Individuals, including contestants, may leave one shout per song entry starting March 26th - it's OK if an individual also left a comment(s) prior to March 26th.
- Voters may be logged in when they leave a comment or leave a comment as a guest. We have ways to see if people vote more than once. Tell people not to vote more than once. If someone votes for a song more than once, that song may become disqualified. Let us know if you notice anyone who is voting more than once on your song.
- Contestants who receive more than one vote per person, or cheer more than once for a song may be disqualified.
- Voters must vote from their own individual computers.
Voting Rules - Contestants' Choice Category
- Each contestant will receive an email with instructions for voting on or before March 27th. Vote for your favorite song that is not yours by replying to that email by April 1 (23:59).
- NEW: Contestants must vote in this category in order to be eligible to win any of the categories.
Winners
Winners will be announced in the RiffRumble Forum on Sonoma's web site, in the Newsletter and on this page by April 7th.
