The RiffRumble VIII song contest was hosted by Sonoma Wire Works, developers of RiffWorks and RiffWorld.com. Thanks to the sponsors of this round are IK Multimedia, Taylor Guitars, and Recording Magazine.

Contestants worldwide are competing. 3 winners will split $4000 in prizes like a Taylor Standard SolidBody Guitar, a StompIO™ USB floor controller and audio interface , 3 AmpliTube® Jimi Hendrix™ Editions, 3 Recording Magazine subscriptions and 6 RiffWorks InstantDrummers!

One winner in each of these 3 categories win the prizes listed here:

• Taylor's Choice: Song chosen by Taylor Guitars wins a Taylor Standard SolidBody guitar, AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix, Recording Mags & 2 InstantDrummer Sessions
• Contestants' Choice: Song that receives the most votes from the contestants wins a StompIO, AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix, Recording Mags & 2 InstantDrummer Sessions
• Popularity: Song that receives the most votes from the public wins AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix, Recording Mags & 2 InstantDrummer Sessions

*US resident winners will receive a 1 year subscription to Recording, non-US residents will receive 3 back issues. All other prizes can be won by both US residents and non-US residents.

Submission Rules Were

• Record an original song in RiffWorks Standard or Line 6 Edition. Guide for How to easily create a song with RiffWorks.
• Submit one song to RiffRumble using the RiffCast button in the RiffWorks interface starting Jan. 24 through Feb. 7 (23:59 PST). In the pull-down menu in the interface, choose RiffRumble VIII. Here's an image.
• If more than one song is submitted, only the most recent one will be eligible.
• Syncing to ReWire devices is allowed.
• Songs that have been posted previously to RiffCaster are eligible.
• Songs submitted to previous RiffRumbles are not eligible.
• Contestants are responsible for checking the entry page and making sure their entry appears. Contact support here if you do not see it after about 3 minutes.
• RiffLink online collaborations are not allowed.
• In order to protect your music, songs submitted to RiffRumble are placed under the Creative Commons Music Sharing License.
• Be prepared to present .rws file to prove it was recorded in RiffWorks.
• Contestants worldwide are eligible - you do not have to live in the US.

Voting Rules - Popularity Category - Voting Closed

• Votes were accepted as 'Shouts' on each song February 8th (00:01 PST) - 14th (23:59PST).
• Invite people to add a comment to your song on your song's page starting February 8. Point your fans to your song's unique URL.
• Individuals, including contestants, may leave one shout per song entry starting Feb. 8th - it's OK if an individual also left a comment(s) prior to Feb. 8th.
• Voters may be logged in when they leave a comment or leave a comment as a guest. We have ways to see if people vote more than once. Tell people not to vote more than once. If someone votes for a song more than once, that song may become disqualified.
• Contestants who receive more than one vote per person, or cheer more than once for a song may be disqualified.
• Voters must vote from their own individual computers

• Each contestant received an email with instructions for voting. Vote by replying to that email, only once, before Feb. 14h at 23:59.
• Vote for only ONE song that is NOT your song.
